Girl Gone Wicked

No grace? no womanhood? Ah, beastly creature,
The blot and enemy to our general name!
Act 2.3.182-183

Why on God's green Earth would someone WANT anybody to be raped? The ruthless queen seems so caught up in revenge that she forgets how terrible a thing to take someone's "purity." Murder has always been portrayed less beastly than rape. For a woman or a man to let this happen is intolerable. Hopefully, Shakespeare was probably trying to show the cruelty of the queen. Tamora loses her womanliness and her humanity in this act and will likely pay for it later in the play.
