Love Potion #9

"Which of my women 'twas you hired to put
Love powder into my drink?"
Act 5.2.159-160

First of all, WTF!!! I feel like this was a useless and unedited filler that Webster just came up with to point out that the Cardinal was the chief criminal. It could have been much easier to just stick Bosola behind a curtain and have Cardinal aside himself in details of the murder. And this business about Julia falling in love with Bosola for two seconds. Julia had no major role in my opinion, so why would Webster have to make her fall in love with Bosola? It didn't give Bosola anymore charitable characteristics as Webster points out that Bosola could have given her a love potion. I feel this whole scenario should have been edited out because Bosola and the Cardinal have there own thing and apparently Julia was "kissin' everything in site" including the cop on "34th and Vine."
